Rygene - tug passing Gothenburg dry dockPhotographed on 16 May 2008, this tug was used to tow the replica East Indiaman Götheborg III out to sea today at the beginning of her "round Sweden" voyage that will last until September.
Owned by Sandinge Towing and Seatransports, Rygene is 17.6 m long, with a beam of 5.39 m and draught of 2.30 m. Built in 1977 by P. Höivolds Mek, she has a 720 hp Caterpillar 3412 engine driving a reversible propeller. 47 tons displacement and a Hundested 90 hp bow propeller.
