This boat was one of 4 in a first series of aluminium vessels built at Djupvik yard for the Swedish Customs service. They were designed by E. Elfman.
Tv 253 was delivered in 1960 to the Karlshamn customs post and stayed there for the whole of her service, until the beginning of 1988.
Her tasks included coast surveillance, combating smuggling, fishery inspections, clearing oil spills, rescue services, supervision of leisure craft, etc.
She is 15 m x 4 m, with a draught of 1 m.Displacement 12 tons. Noe cared for by the Sällskapet tullbåten Tv 253, a voluntary organisation.
