Drottningholm received her present name in 1969.
During filming of the Swedish TV series Saltkråkan in 1962 she was temporarily named Saltkråkan and featured in the series.

IMO 5375838. Dimensions after various changes: 23.18 x 5.56 x 2.30 m. Laid up between 1918 and 1944, and again between 1953 and 1960. Laid up in the winter of 1968 and began to deteriorate, but then sold to Strömma Kanalrederiet, Stockholm, restored, and renamed to "Nya Strömma Kanal". Ran aground on her first trial run from Stockholm to Sandhamn via the Strömma Kanal. Eventually freed and returned to Stockholm, where she was rebuilt at Djurgårdsvarvet, including a restaurant on the upper deck. On the next trial run to Möja-Sandhamn via Vaxholm the coal ran out, so some of the internal structure had to be broken out and burned to get back to the shipyard!
Transferred in 1969 to K/B Drottningholms Ångfartygs Ab and renamed to Drottningholm.
On 7 May 1980 fire broke out on board while moored at Klara Mälarstrand in Stockholm. The vessel was completely burned out, and the fire spread to SS Mariefred, moored alongside.
On 14 May 1982, after rebuilding, re-enetered service.
