La Suisse.This is a scan of a photo taken in 1998 of the flagship of the Compagnie Generale de Navigation (CGN)off Evian on Lake Geneva.After an 18 month overhaul La Suisse was relaunched in May 2009.
She entered service in May 1910,built by Sulzer Bros in Winterthur,as a coal-fired paddle boat with 1400hp engines.She was converted to heavy fuel in 1960 and light fuel in 1998/9.
15000 donors contributed 12m Swiss Francs for her restoration.
