Harbour Defence Motor Launch (HDML), designed by W J Holt, Chief Constructor of the Naval Construction Department, Admiralty, and built by: R A Newman, Hamworthy, Dorset, commissioned on 29 December 1943. Participated in the D-Day landings, 6 June 1944. In 1953 she became an Hydrographic Survey Vessel with the pennant number A 323, and was finally named HMS Medusa in 1961.
